A Film by Tristen Bakker

A snapshot of a moment in time: Adrian confronts the reality that she must leave her adopted home of Berlin, Germany and return to her native home Toronto, Canada. The director first intended the film to be an observational documentary, but almost immediately became actively engaged in the situation she was documenting. As she spoke with Adrian throughout the evening she became a participant in the film, talking with Adrian about her decision to leave and what it will mean for her to return “home” without achieving a tangible change in her life.
Spontaneously conceived and shot in one night, the film captures a moment in Adrian’s life that was painful for her, that shows her inner struggle and dissatisfaction with herself. In the end it also captures a moment of the director’s own struggle, in which she faces the prospect of losing her best friend and being left alone again in a largely unknown city.
