After the Future

A Film by Shai Tubali


In 2028 a molecular biologist unveils a hidden layer of the genome, proving that all human life and choices are pre-designed. Years after receiving his own genetic prediction, 28-year-old Joseph struggles to come to terms with his expected death. Seven days before the end, a surprising encounter with a young woman will reveal to him an alternative future.

    Shai Tubali

    Shai Tubali is a philosopher, author and speaker in the field of inner transformation and human potential. In his writings and lectures, he combines psychology, philosophy, Yogic traditions and Eastern thought, into processes of self-development.
    He has written 23 books, which have appeared internationally for the past two decades in five languages and have been published by major publishers. His most prominent writings have been awarded in the United States and in Israel and others have become best-sellers.
    Born in Israel in 1976, Shai became very early in his life an active journalist and columnist in Israel’s major newspapers and one of its leading radio stations. His writing career started at the age of 19, where he became nationally recognized as a novelist. Though he is mainly dedicated to writing and teaching in the field of personal development, he has never neglected his artistic passions. A novelist, poet, and essayist as well, he dialogues with thinkers and writers such as Nietzsche, Socrates, Freud, Adler, Albert Camus and Thomas Mann.
    In 2017 he has determined to follow also his great passion for filmmaking. He considers writing and directing “After The Future” the beginning of a new journey, basing on this short film a feature alongside other cinematic creations.
    Since 2012, Shai Tubali lives in Berlin where he runs the Human Greatness Center.
