Synopsis

AFTERMATH

LOGLINE: Germany 1916. The war has also left graves in interpersonal relationships. The friendship of two dissimilar outsiders allows hope to emerge. But is blood thicker than water?

BRIEF SYNOPSIS: Germany 1916. In a little village the outsider Marga (45) is fighting for everyday survival. Hans (12) is fascinated by the lady and literally follows her, which culminates into a severe accident. As a result Marga has to take care of the boy. A friendship evolves from this difficult relationship but only lasts shortly and is abruptly ruined due to the arrival of Hans’ brother Friedrich (22).

    Sonja Keßler

    Sonja Keßler (maiden name: Paetz) was born on the 28th of July in 1984. After finishing high school in 2003, she became a pre-med student at the University of Cologne for 5 semesters before switching to a Masters Course of Theatre-, Film- and Television Studies, English and Psychology. At that time she directed her first short films and made a full-length documentary film about the Aids Hilfe Köln (Aids aid). Beginning 2012, she studied film directing at the international filmschule köln (ifs). In 2016 she graduated as a Bachelor of Arts and her film “Aftermath”.
