Synopsis

PEACOCK ISLAND
Essayistic narrative about a 1793 garden island in Berlin with a peacock population. The film is a composite of precise observations of the peacock, the transition of spring season and passages of historical literature from its day. The play of manifold elements shifts lyrically and theatrically.

    Miklos Gaál

    Miklos Gaál, born in 1974 in Finland, is a visual artist living in Amsterdam. His works have been exhibited internationally since 2000 in institutions, galleries and in repro-duction. Currently he is a doctoral researcher in University of the Arts Helsinki with a study of art philosophy of Jena romanticism. Pfaueninsel is Gaál’s first film.
