Synopsis

Victoria is a transgender woman who lives in Berlin. During the course of one night she embarks on a journey in search of release from the burden of the body and its limitations. An intimate yet violent exploration that challenges the boundaries of gender, body and soul.

    Roey Victoria Heifetz, a visual artist, lives and works in Berlin. She has presented work in numerous international solo and group exhi-bitions around the world, such as: Kunstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin, The Israel Museum, Jerusalem and Venice Biennale - the Israeli pavilion. Heifetz is a grant and scholarship recipient from Lotto Stiftung, Berlin; Mifal Hapais Art Scholarship, Israel; Rudolf Augstein Stiftung, Germany; Kunstlerhaus Bethanien Artist Residency, Berlin, Germany; Artist organization, New York, USA; Artist-Teacher Award, Culture Ministry, Government of Israel; Award of Achievements, B.F.A and M.F.A. studies, Bezalel Academy, Jerusalem, Israel. Additionally, in 2018 Heifetz was awarded the Ann and Ari Rosenblatt Award, and was nominated among the finalist for The Marianne Werefkin Award for women artists, Germany. Heifetz studied at the Bezalel Academy for Arts and Design in Jerusalem (BFA, MFA) and at the School of the Museum of Fine Art in Boston, USA.


    Zohar Melinek Ezra is a director, cinematographer and editor. He studied screenwriting at the Vancouver Film School, holds a BA in New Media from Concordia University, Montreal, and an MFA in Filmmaking and Theory from Sapir College, Israel. He is known for his Israeli documentary series Spectrums. Spectrums recently won best series award at the St. Lawrence International Film Festival and also won best docu-series award in both Baltimore Next Media Festival and Hollyweb Festival. It has been screened in over 40 festivals worldwide. His short film, Nation’s Legacy of Severance (2015), won Best Experimental Film award at the Toronto Film Week. His and Roey Victoria Heifetz’s short documentary, Block of Clay was presented in the Venice Biennale (2019) at the Israeli Pavilion. Zohar’s works have been shown in international festivals, galleries and museums, including The Jewish Museum Berlin, Geneva International Film Festival, Nashville Film Festival, BFI, Hamburg LGBT Film Fest, and Verona International Film Festival. Zohar lectures and teaches workshops internationally on filmmaking, socially-engaged cinema, new media and art.
