Synopsis

Mimi (18) reconstructs her immigration story. Her memories from the past mix with the present and future through a stream of consciousness. Her identity dissolves and lost between Ethiopia and Israel.

    Alamork Davidian

    Born in 1980 in Awash, Ethiopia, Alamork Davidian moved to Israel in 1991. Following a documentary research job, Alamork was caught under the spell of cinema. She studied at Tel Hai College where she directed her first short Mulu (Special Mention, TLV Student IFF). She continued to the prestigious Sam Spiegel Film & Television School and graduated in 2012. During her studies, she directed Korki (Montreal IFF, Wiesbaden IFF, Wolgin Competition at the Jerusalem IFF and more) and her diploma film Cleaning Time. In 2012 Alamork Davidian along with Kobi Davidian opened a family based production house that creates short fiction films, full length documentaries and testimonial archives for the Israeli national archive. Additionally, giving production and director services to other film project and companies. In 2016 she completed Facing the Wall, a short fiction film. Winner of Best Short Film in the 33ed Jerusalem International film festival, 2016. Best Short Film winner in the Independent Short-film Competition, 18th Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival, 2016. She has now completed Transitions, a short fiction film premiered in October 2016 at Haifa International Film Festival, Israel. Fig Tree that won The Sam Spiegel International Film Lab in 2015 will be Alamork’s debut feature film.

    Kobi Davidian

    Born in 1980 in Jerusalem, Israel, Kobi Davidian studied at Tel Aviv University where he graduated with a B.A in the Multidisciplinary Program in the Arts in 2006. He worked as a researcher for different TV shows for two years before he started his career has an Independent filmmaker. He's Documentary Turbulence was shown in festivals around the world and is studied in law faculties of Harvard, Duke and Tel-Aviv Universities. In 2012 Kobi Davidian along with Alamork Davidian opened a family based production house that creates short fiction films, full length documentaries and
    testimonial archives for the Israeli national archive. Additionally, giving production and director services to other film project and companies. He has now completed Transitions, a short fiction film premiered in October 2016 at Haifa International Film Festival, Israel. And currently is directing an interview archive “Memories - the story of the Ethiopian Jews” for the Israeli National Archive.
